This globe is on display at Village Park in Bangor, WI.  It was commissioned by the Veterans Opposing War organization.  This organization is also a dedicated sponsor of area youth soccer.  This peace monument relates the game of soccer as a unifying force for world peace.  Soccer is something that every continent and almost every country has in common.  There are more members of the World Soccer League than there are members of the United Nations.  A soccer ball is placed in the center of the globe and attached to each continent by connecting rays.  The globe was raised so the soccer ball was at about eye level.   Olive branches and doves surround the base as additional symbols of peace.
